The council has ordained, Marion Veitch, spouse to Thomas Hope, with her bairns and family and James Thomson, his wife, bairns and family, who’s houses both are infected, to go forth this night to two seuerall {separate} lodges in the Grene {common ground}, and to provide themselves in elding {fuel} and other necessary furnishing, and to take the same with them and likewise ordains the thesaurare {burgh official} to lock Patrick Watson and Thomas Bennet in their houses.
